The state was ordered by a judge Friday to give to the defense the names of people who may have been involved with John Y. Butler’s alleged theft of public money from the city-owned arena formerly known as US Cellular Coliseum. According to the Pantagraph, Central Illinois Arena Management (CIAM), which is Butler’s company operated the Coliseum for a decade before deciding not to renew the agreement with the city in 2016. Butler and four other CIAM employees were charged in September with 111 counts of theft, money laundering, wire fraud and tax evasion.
