S$250,000 has been awarded to the family of a former student in a civil rights lawsuit against the El Paso-Gridley school district. The student was bullied and beaten on a bus on his way to school in the El Paso-Gridley. The boy who was 13 at the time. According to a report in The Pantagraph, a Chicago jury found that bus driver “acted with intentional disregard and indifference for the student’s safety and well-being” and that the school district allowed the boy to be beaten and bullied. The driver has been fired. It is also alleged that the driver helped students hide marijuana to avoid consequences at school.
