All Bergner’s stores are set to close after a liquidation company made the winning bid for parent company Bon-Ton Stores. Great American Group LLC and Tiger Capitol Group LLC will acquire the inventory and assets of the company. The bankruptcy court is set to approve the sale and wind-down of the company’s operations. Bergner’s outlets currently operate in Peoria, Bloomington, Pekin, Galesburg and Peru locally. Employees recently received notices indicating the stores could close as soon as June 5.
