A $3.9 million, 2-megawatt farm from Santa Monica, Calif.-based alternative energy company Cypress Creek Renewables will be built this year on 25 acres near the intersection of South Main Street, also known as U.S. 51 Business, and Interstate 74 in south Bloomington, pending county approval. The Pantagraph reports the project is expected to generate enough power for 300 to 400 homes, $2.3 million in local economic impact, 25 full-time-equivalent construction and installation jobs, revenue for landowner Lorraine Stevens and some additional tax revenue, according to county documents.
