A 17-year-old male from Normal was arrested in connection with a double homicide late Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of E. College Avenue. Normal Police Chief Rick Bleichner said the shooting was an isolated incident, and no further suspects are currently being sought. The 17-year-old is a juvenile, therefore his name has not been made public. McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis said both shooting death victims were from Bloomington. 20-year-old Joseph Gardner and 19-year-old Reginald F. Hart, Jr. were each shot several times. NPD says drugs may have been at the center of the dispute. McLean County State’s Attorney Jason Chambers is reviewing the case for probable charges.
