The Illinois House of Representatives Tuesday passed SB 3604, a bill that will end the practice of awarding expensive severance packages to public executives who are asked to leave their jobs under questionable circumstances. The legislation gives governments in Illinois the ability to remain competitive while eliminating abuses that fuel taxpayer distrust. The bill previously unanimously passed the Illinois Senate 52 to 0. The bill will now go to Governor Rauner’s desk for him to sign into law.
