A local man has filed a complaint seeking a formal ethics hearing regarding city employee Nikita Richards in accordance with city ordinance and state law.
Ms Richards is running as a Democrat for the office of county clerk in McLean County this November.
The complaint filed by Kevin S. Gerrard Tuesday alleges that is has been determined through FOIA discovery that Richards has spent considerable work time either shopping on line and partaking in online activities that reflect campaign activities in violation of Illinois State law.
Gerrard sent his complaint and numerous documents appearing to support his claim to City Manager Tim Gleason.
City Manager Tim Gleason responded to our questions into this matter regarding what, if any, actions will be taken as a result of this complaint.
Gleason tells Cities 92.9 that they are “Looking at this internally to see who has the lead since the claim was filed with the OEIG (Inspector General). Talk soon.”
We are awaiting a response from from Ms Richards.
