Folks from Peoria to Cairo are looking at a flash flood watch for the next few days, as Illinois braces for what’s left of Tropical Storm Gordon. The National Weather Service says heavy rains will start today and inundate the state until at least early Sunday. Forecasters say a lot of local rivers, streams, and low-lying roads will flood this weekend. They are warning people never to drive through high water.
