Our first accumulating snow of the season is coming up tonight. Expect rain to develop early in the evening, quickly turning over to snow. Amounts are expected to be rather light, generally around an inch north of I-72 and a dusting as far south as the I-70 corridor. Areas north of I-74 could see amounts around 1.5 to 2 inches. Much of the snow should be on grassy areas. However, there may be some slick spots on area roads for the Friday morning commute, especially west of I-55 where temperatures will be a bit colder. The snow should not last long, as temperatures rise well above freezing by Friday afternoon.
