There were four tornadoes in all that strafed the LeRoy, Ellsworth and Colfax communities on Saturday night. In all, there were 26 confirmed tornadoes in the state that set a new record for the largest December tornado outbreak in Illinois history. The previous record was on Dec. 18th and 19th of 1957 when 21 tornadoes touched down. There were no reported injuries associated with Saturday’s McLean County tornadoes.
