It may soon cost a little more to ride the bus in Bloomington-Normal. Managers at Connect Transit, the cities’ bus line, say they’re looking to increase one-way fares by a quarter in March. Currently it costs a dollar to ride the bus. But critics in the city say the fare increase is small potatoes. They point to reports that say Connect Transit is losing millions of dollars a year while running nearly empty buses.
