A 24-hour period of dangerously cold weather will be on tap late this week. By late Thursday night and early Friday, most of central Illinois will see wind chills in the 15 below to 25 below zero range, as actual temperatures fall below zero north of I-70. Such cold weather can cause frostbite or hypothermia in a short amount of time for people not adequately dressed for the cold. Keep this in mind when you’re getting ready for work or school on Friday.
