The rules for food trucks in Illinois could change. The Illinois Supreme Court is being asked to decide if Chicago’s rule that food trucks must stay 200 feet away from brick and mortar restaurants is legal. Lawyers for the city say the rule protects traditional restaurants, but lawyers for a food truck owner say the rule is designed to limit competition. Chicago is not the only city in the state with rules that limit food trucks. The high court listened to arguments Wednesday, there’s no word when it may deliver a ruling.
