Light to moderate snow will overspread the area from the northwest this afternoon. With very cold air in place, snow will immediately begin to stick on untreated roadways. This could create slick travel conditions the afternoon commute, primarily northwest of the I-55 corridor. By time the snowfall tapers off this evening, 1 to 2 inches of accumulation are possible, with the higher amounts north of a Canton to Bloomington line.
