With a quick surge of warmer and humid air into east central and southeast Illinois, there will be a threat of severe thunderstorms late this morning and early afternoon. While damaging winds will be the primary concern, a few tornadoes are also possible. The threat will quickly diminish after 1 pm as the storms move into Indiana. Given that it’s been a couple months since we’ve seen severe weather, think ahead to what you would do when severe weather approaches.
