The plan to pay teachers in Illinois at least 40 thousand-dollars-a-year is slowly making its way back to the governor’s desk. A Senate panel approved the idea Wednesday. Supporters say the pay raise is needed to keep teachers in Illinois. Lawmakers approved a similar plan last year, but former Governor Rauner vetoed it.
