It might be hard to believe but Bloomington has set a record low for the number of serious crimes reported in the city with all those homicides included. According to the city’s 2018 FBI Unified Crime Report data, Bloomington saw 9 percent reduction in crime. On the flipside, 2018 was also one of the deadliest years on record with nine homicides in the city in 2018, up from three from 2017.
