A new report shows that there is still a shortage of teachers in the state. Mark Jontry, who heads Illinois’ Association of Regional Superintendents, says the teacher shortage is a bigger problem in central and southern Illinois. Jontry says young teachers tend to want to teach in and around Chicago. Though the survey says 85 percent of schools across the state have had trouble finding a teacher over the past year.
