The Illinois Senate on Thursday approved legislation 39-16 to raise the minimum age to buy tobacco products, just two days after it successfully passed out of the House. The legislation raises the age to buy products containing nicotine — such as cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes and chewing tobacco — from 18 to 21. The Chicago Sun-Times reports Gov. J.B. Pritzker has not said conclusively whether he would sign the bill. His spokeswoman said in an email that he “looks forward to reviewing the legislation.”
