
The Town of Normal has its lowest crime rate since crime data was first collected and reported on 23 years ago. According to Normal Police Department’s 2018 Annual Report, the number of reported offenses in 2018 fell by 7 percent from 2017 with criminal damage offenses, DUIs, vehicle burglaries, and weapons-related offenses in 2018 all down. However, the number of burglaries, assaults and batteries, and drug offenses escalated a bit and there were two homicides.
