A newly proposed state bill in Springfield (House Bill 3343) would allow people to buy fast food with food stamps. If passed, recipients can use their monthly allotment to buy meals from restaurants. The bill would be limited to the elderly, disabled, homeless people and their spouses. Presently, you can only buy groceries at a store or a farmer’s market.
