
Floyd E. Brown, the man accused of shooting and killing McHenry County Deputy Jacob Keltner, faces a 75-count bill of indictment from a Winnebago County Grand Jury. Brown’s indictment includes 60 counts of first-degree murder. This carries a penalty of a life sentence at minimum and a possible death sentence. WIFR TV reports the indictment also includes three counts of attempted first-degree murder. Brown was accused of shooting at three other officers at the scene. He faces an additional 20-80 years for these charges. He was also charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful restraint, possession of a firearm with a FOID card and as an armed habitual criminal. Brown pleaded not guilty to separate federal charges last week. He is currently in custody and due back in federal court on Thursday.
