Tuesday’s announcement that charges would be dropped against actor Jussie Smollett is getting the attention of state legislators. East Dundee Representative Allen Skillicorn wants to see the Cook County State’s Attorney’s emails on the case and is calling for and investigation into the decision not to prosecute. Meanwhile, State Representative Michael McAuliffe is proposing legislation that would deny TV or movie companies that use Smollett from getting the Illinois film tax credit.
