A group of downstate Republican lawmakers seeks a divorce from Chicago. A State House Resolution that would ask Congress for a downstate divorce was drawn up by Shelbyville Republican Brad Halbrook and now has five Republican co-sponsors. Halbrook acknowledged in a WMBD TV “Capitol Connection” interview that his language “may be” divisive, but he feels the movement is warranted.
