Empire actor Jussie Smollet’s lawyers are responding to Chicago officials threat to sue their client. The legal team says they will counter the action by deposing Mayor Emanuel, Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and other key people in the case. Smollett was charged with 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct for an alleged hate crime on himself, but last week Cook County prosecutors dropped all charges against him. Meanwhile, the city sent the entertainer’s attorneys a letter demanding that he pay more than 130-thousand dollars or the city may sue.
