Governor J.B. Pritzker wants cannabis legalized during this legislative session, but some lawmakers are uncertain it will happen. State Senator Dave Syverson of Rockford says too many dynamics of the situation would need to be addressed before the session ends in the next few weeks for the bill to pass. Lawmakers say if the bill doesn’t pass this session, the soonest it could be revisited is later this fall.
