The state of Illinois is going to set aside some money for college for every child born in the state. The Illinois Senate approved the idea yesterday. Under the plan, the state will start a 50-dollar college savings account for every child born in Illinois starting in 2021. The hope is that parents will then match the money. Lawmakers say the college savings plan will cost ten-million-dollars a year.
