Illinois lawmakers are waiting until the last minute to propose and pass a state budget. The spring legislative session ends today, and legislators hadn’t released the language of the Fiscal Year 2020 budget bill as of last night. Lawmakers say there is plenty of time to get a budget passed today before the session ends. However, the Illinois House found time to pass the graduated income tax rates yesterday. The state Senate previously passed the measure. Voters will weigh in on the referendum in the November 2020 election.
