(WMAY) Governor JB Pritzker says he has no plans to use his veto pen to remove money for legislative pay raises from the new state budget.
Several lawmakers… including Springfield Republican Tim Butler… have called on Pritzker to zero out the funding for the pay raises, which will kick in because lawmakers failed to pass a bill rejecting them.
But Pritzker says the budget was carefully negotiated and he’s going to sign it “as is,” rather than put it back before lawmakers who would have to accept his changes.
