A federal judge is ordering the town of Normal and several artists to work out a disagreement among themselves over the uptown mural. WEEK TV reports the judge, on Wednesday, denied the artists’ request for a temporary restraining order to stop the demolition of the building that bears the mural. The demolition is scheduled to begin in July, but the town has promised to give a week’s notice before it starts. Many of the artists who created the mural are suing Normal to keep the mural intact, claiming demolition would violate their copyright.
