Illinois public schools will have higher funding in the upcoming fiscal year.
The Illinois State Board of Education got an update yesterday in Springfield on budget changes. Schools will be getting an additional 375-million dollars, with a greater share of the money going to schools that are poorly funded.
The budget also provides for 50 million extra in early childhood funding and five million more for career and technical education.
