
27-year-old Jose D. Rodriguez of Bloomington man turned himself in to police after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal hit-and-run crash on foot over the weekend. Rodriguez was allegedly behind the wheel of a van that struck a motorcycle at Main Street and Macarthur Avenue around 3:40 p.m. Saturday, Bloomington Police said. The motorcyclist, Corey R. Cotrell, died from the head injuries he suffered in the collision. Rodriguez is looking at preliminary charges of failure to report an accident causing death, which is a Class 2 felony, disregarding a traffic control device, and not having a driver’s license, police said.
