A McLean County man=n has been charged with trying to drown a police dog after officers tried to serve a warrant Tuesday in Stanford. 40-year old Stephen Sholty of Shirley faces a misdemeanor charge of attempting to injure or kill a police animal. McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage said Rico, the K-9, was not injured.
