Jose Rodriguez, 27, of Bloomington, had his bond increased to $1 million Friday during his arraignment. Rodriguez will need to pay 10 percent, about $100,000, to be released on bond.
He is accused of hitting and killing 39-year-old Corey Cottrell and fleeing the scene. Rodriguez turned himself in the next day.
Rodriguez posted his initial bond of just over $10,000, but the Pantagraph reports the judge is asking him to be held partly because immigration officers were there.
