
Tesla is planning to open a retail location in rival electric vehicle-maker Rivian’s backyard. Bloomington city documents show that the electric car giant plans to open a sales, service, and repair center in the Towanda Barnes Business Park. Tesla plans to use a warehouse space that once housed two separate drywall companies and a floor covering company. The location would be the first in the state outside the Chicago area and just a few miles from the Normal-based Rivian plant (formerly Mitsubishi plant) where electric trucks and SUV’s are being produced
