The Bloomington city council will vote tonight on Mayor Tari Renner’s recommendation that City Manager Tim Gleason receive a 3.5 percent raise and an additional week of vacation. That would increase Gleason’s salary from $185,000 to $191,475 and total weeks of vacation from four to five annually.
Also on the agenda, Proposed gambling restrictions drafted by city staff include ending the moratorium banning additional video gambling machines, set to expire Sept. 1; capping at 60 the number of Bloomington establishments licensed for video gambling; and limiting to five the number of terminals per establishment. Large truck stops, under a new state law, could have up to 10.
The council will also vote on the sale of several acres of city parkland to the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal.
