The Bloomington city council Monday night voted to expand video gaming to a total of 60 businesses. In the meantime businesses looking to get a new license under the amended code will have to wait to apply until Sept. 16. Licenses will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis.
The council also agreed to sell more than 3-acres of land to the Bloomington-Normal Boys and Girls club for just 1 dollar. The club plans to build a $12-15 million facility on part of Sunnyside Park, which is just down the street from their current location.
Lastly, Bloomington leaders are giving City Manager Tim Gleason a raise. The city voted to increase Gleason’s salary by than 3.5%. That means Gleason will make more than $190,000 a year.
