According to leaders in Normal, the town’s finances are heading in the right direction after setbacks last year. However, one Normal resident pointing out that the Police and Fire Pensions are only funded at 55 and 61 percent. Staff is reporting over 2% growth in sales tax and property tax revenue. But some residents are disappointed the council is planning to continue funding pension obligations through property taxes.
