Cannabis Task force members are largely neutral on the sale of marijuana in Bloomington. In a straw poll, six of the panel’s ten members say they need to learn more about the new law legalizing recreational marijuana use by adults. The law goes into effect January 1st, 2020 and presents local governments with several issues to work out. Cities and counties must decide whether to allow marijuana dispensaries in the area, whether to add a sales tax, and zoning issues for cannabis-related businesses.
