Slain University of Illinois scholar Yingying Zhang’s convicted killer Brendt Christensen is no longer behind bars in Illinois.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Christensen was transferred and is being held at Oklahoma City FTC. He was being held in the Livingston County Jail.
Christensen was sentenced to life behind bars in July for kidnapping and killing Zhang. He was facing the death penalty; however, jurors were unable to make a unanimous decision.
He was first arrested in 2017.
