
GOODFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — We now know the involvement of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) with the family of a 9-year-old charged with murder.
This boy is facing five counts of first-degree murder.
The boy is accused of setting a fire in April at a mobile home in Goodfield, Illinois. The fire killed a 1-year-old, two 2-year-olds, a 34-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman. Four of the victims were the boy’s relatives.
According to DCFS, there were 14 incidents investigated by the department before April 8, 2019 in regards to this boy and his family.
Their first investigation, with either Katrina Alwood (mother) or Jason Wall (father and fiancé to Katrina) as the subject of the investigation, was closed in January of 2010 as unfounded. Highlights of subsequent investigations are outlined below. DCFS is currently investigating allegations of abuse and neglect following the fire on April 6, 2019.
