A family of four that was not at home at the time is displaced after their house caught fire.
The blaze started in the basement of a home at 1103 Whitaker Street in the Savannah Green subdivision in Normal at about 3:45 p.m.. The fire caused extensive damage to the home.
A dog was rescued from that fire, but firefighters say a cat was lost.
The Red Cross has been called in to assist. the family.
