The Illinois State Police are averaging better than two wrecks a month involving their units. A trooper took to Twitter yesterday to say three crashes over the weekend brought the number of State Police cars hit along the side of the road in 2019 to 26. The trooper also said that the State Police have issued nearly six thousand tickets this year for drivers who refuse to move-over for the police or other roadside first responders.
