Senate President John Cullerton (D) is stepping down from his post as his campaign funds are dogged by questions about possible financial mismanagement.
WCIA-TV reports four funds controlled by Cullerton have sustained steep losses in recent years and have filed financial disclosure reports that are riddled with errors.
And Cullerton parted company with a longtime political aide amid concerns about her handling of some of the money in those funds.
