The Normal Police Department and State’s Attorney’s Office spoke out on Wednesday after the guilty verdict in Cynthia Clay’s trial.
The State’s Attorney’s Office and the Normal Police Department wanted to thank everyone that was involved in this case for their hard work. The state’s attorney said this case was of a high priority and many resources went into this prosecution.

We asked about the possible charges for Rica’s father, who was seen in the videos that Clay took while she abused Rica.
The State’s Attorney said the investigation is ongoing and that this is not the end of the road.
Others may be criminally culpable for the events that took place, leading to Rica’s death.
Authorities believe there’s more work to be done in this case.
