Illinois State Police have issued over 6,000 Move Over/Scott’s Law violations so far this year.
According to a Facebook post, police have issued 6,272 citations, as of Monday.
ISP has lost four troopers so far this year – two of which were a result of motorists not moving over or slowing down, per police.
A total of 27 squad cars have been struck so far this year, as of Monday as well.
ISP want to remind the public of this simple message: “Move over and slow down.”
