The members of a McLean County jury deliberated for about 10½ hours before reaching their decision Wednesday afternoon.
They found Kyle Brestan guilty of the 2017 death of Shannon Hastings, who was stabbed 105 times in a west-side motel.
First Assistant State’s Attorney Brad Rigdon told jurors drugs and money were most likely the motives for the slaying.
