Marijuana-related businesses will be regulated, not banned, in unincorporated areas of McLean County. The County Board voted on Tuesday night to defeat a proposed ordinance to prohibit them.
The county Zoning Board of Appeals next will have to figure out ‘how’ to regulate them.
Adults in Illinois are allowed to use cannabis for recreation beginning Jan. 1 after approval by the General Assembly and governor earlier this year.
