Normal Police officer Brian Williams, 46, pleaded not guilty Friday to official misconduct and theft charges, during his first public court appearance since being accused of stealing—and then trying to return—$12,000 in cash.
Williams is on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. He allegedly stole the cash Nov. 25th from the residence of someone who apparently overdosed. Williams had responded to the residence for the 911 call. Days later Williams allegedly tried to secretly return the money to the person’s relative.
