A body found in rural Tazewell County is believed to be that of John Tyler, who has been missing since December 6.
Tyler’s body was located by a jogger on Schmidgall Road near Augustine Road Monday morning, according to a release by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the release, the body was found off the road and could not be seen from a vehicle driving by.
Positive identification is pending an autopsy later Monday.
No cause of death has been determined.
The discovery of the body follows the arrest of Daniel C. Allbritton on three counts of murder on December 17 in connection to Tyler’s disappearance.
Allbritton, according to the TCSO, was arrested after an investigation revealed blood that contained Tyler’s DNA was located at his home.
